Well, no, that's a lie, I'm not, I can go there anytime I want, but when you live 45 minutes from it, you tend not to go very often. Anyway, I digress. I really am on vacation for a week, and I WISH I was going to Disneyland. Instead, hubby and I are making our annual roadtrip to beautiful Los Banos in Central California (I'm being kinda sarcastic there). Why you ask? Because every year he and his childhood buddy (my husband escaped, the buddy didn't LOL) make the drive over to Monterey for the motorcycle races. While I LOVE Monterey, I personally would rather watch paint dry than go watch motorcycle races so I will stay at his friend's house in beautiful Los Banos and hang out with his friend's lovely wife and drink wine all day long and probably make dinner for the men for when they return from their adventure. I thought about trying to find quilt shops, but I think it involves way too much driving because they are kind of out in the middle of nowhere. We will stay up there until Tuesday, we're going to haul the boat up there and go fishing on the rest of the days we will be there.
Not much else planned for our vacation this time around, we have to sign our loan docs on the house next week so we have to stick around town, we're getting closer to closing. I think we might go to Catalina on Friday. My husband wants to go diving. Now, I find diving not my thing either, but I usally wander around Avalon while he's diving and just hang out and doze in the sun. This will be the first time I've been over there since we got married there at the Los Angeles County Courthouse 4 years ago. Seems like it's been about 5 million years! LOL
Another reason I am so glad I am on vacation next week, I work in Downtown Los Angeles, I saw they are having Michael Jackson's funeral at the Staples Center, which is about 3 blocks from my office. Good grief, did anyone not think that's a bad idea??? I'm sorry the guy died, may he rest in peace, but come on people, a weekday, during rush hour??? Well, glad I won't be down there!

Hope you take some stitching on your trip. Sounds like you will need something to occupy your time. Enjoy the rest.
I wondered if you were going to have to deal with the funeral traffic. Have a fabulous vacation! I'm jealous!
I hear ya on the funeral being at Staples. I thought the traffic was horrific on the day of the Laker celebration, I am sure this is going to be worse.
